Home phone not working when connected to Hub

Hi

we have recently had our phone line transferred to the Virgin Hub.  The engineer checked it with his own phone and it worked fine.  We have plugged our own home phone in and it is dead - no dialling tone.  is it possible for a phone not to be compatible? It is a Panasonic phone and about 12 years old.

Hello

Yes it is likely that the phone isn't digital compatible, the phones that work are have to be digital compatible, the old analogue system relies on the voltage that comes down the line.
