Home phone not working - engineer query

At the weekend, my landline did not have a dial tone and I could just hear a lot of crackling/static noises. It had been heavily raining the previous day but after a few hours my phone now has a clear dial tone again (there was a period of time when it was faint with lots of crackling). This is the 3rd time it’s happened in the past few weeks.

I’d already booked an engineer before the dial tone came back again.  Am I ok to proceed with this engineer appointment now as the phone is working again so it can be checked over or do I need to cancel it? I don’t want to be charged for a wasted visit.

Thanks for the post Bmfield and welcome to our community.

 

We would advise it's probably best they still come for the visit as they may find the reason for the few drops in the past few weeks and stop this happening again for you.
