Home phone no dial tone

Tuning in

Landline Cannot receive calls or ring out. Trying to ring landline from mobile, mobile rings out with several rings, then abruptly displays 'call ended'. No ringing at all on landline. The landline seems to have a very quiet, low tone of three beeps and then a gap . Not a proper ring tone. Landline not working at all. Status for my area says no problems with landline.

I'm sorry to hear about the issues with the home phone not working. 😞
May I ask if you're able to ring the service checker on 0800 561 0061 from your Virgin landline or from your mobile.

Just dialed that number on my mobile and says no problems with landline in your area.

Still no proper dialing tone on the landline this morning.

Thanks for the reply @Missusmoth on the forums.

Let's go ahead and do some checks.
Is your landline connected via the home hub or the telephone socket?

If via a socket, please take out all cables and put them back in.
If via the router - please reset / reboot the VM hub.

Let us know what it does.

It's via socket. Unplugged then plugged in again. No proper dialing tone. We actually hear a very quiet, low tone that buzzes for 1 second and then a 1 second gap, repeated. Cannot dial out or receive calls.
