Since the phone switchover to broadband my landline is no longer used and we have missed several important calls. My hub and phone are upstairs and I have no intention of buying another phone. I I purchase a pair of wifi extenders can I plug my telephone into them?

No, cheapest and most convenient way is to buy a dual wireless phone set so one can go next to the router and a slave unit can go elsewhere

Hi @Davo133

Welcome to the community.

Sorry to hear you've missed some important calls. As jb66 has correctly advised, you would not be able to plug the phone into an extender or our WiFi pods. You would need to possible purchase a DECT phone handset so you can have multiple handsets around the home so not to miss any important calls.

Please let us know if you are having any further issues or have any questions at all. We'll be here to help on the community forums if needed :).

If your phone and hub are not in the same room, VM should offer to install a phone extension socket for you FOC linked to the hub (although they often do not offer this unless specifically asked).

I'd agree with jb66 that, for practical purposes, the best resolution is to use cordless handsets, although this is obviously at a cost to you.

Sorry none of these answer my question I  have multiple phones and I need the base phone on a different floor to my hub.

Hi @Davo133

Just to clarify please, are you requesting the base phone is relocated?

If so, I would be happy to arrange an engineer visit for you so they can discuss the possible routes with you.

Please pop back to me when you can.

If you have your hub and phone in different locations, VM should offer to provide you with a phone extension socket (FOC) as part of the switchover process.

From that extension socket they should also be able to connect to your existing extensions and make them active via the hub's phone connection..

When to book a free technician visit
You rely on your landline for accessibility needs or don’t have a mobile to make an emergency call – we’ll provide you with an Emergency Back Up Line so you’re always able to call emergency services.

You’ve got connected devices such as a burglar alarm linked to a control centre, use a telecare device, or have other phones connected to extension sockets.
You’ll need to contact your provider and let them know about the switch if you have any of these to make sure they’re compatible with a fibre service.
The Hub and phone can’t be placed near each other.
