Following a number of power cuts over the past 3 weeks, I have lost caller id on my home phone. Like most others, this is doubly frustrating in that I'm not able to contact Virgin directly

Thank you for taking the time to post, I am sorry to hear that you have been having some issues with your caller ID.
How are things looking since your post? Have you managed to touch base with the customer care team regarding this?
