Get rid of Temp Phone number after Contract Change

We Decided to downgrade our contract to just Broadband in these expensive times

So Tivo & Phone were disconnected

However a few days later we decided to go back to our package from before as were offered a better deal

Tivo was instantly back

However been waiting for our old phone number to be connected since 26th Sept

We were told it would take 1 week however weare suck with a new phone number which we were told was just for the week

Unable to get through to virgin through phone or chat to sort it out Can you help?

If your line was disconnected, then your original number would have ceased. After that it is returned to a pool of numbers for re-allocation.

From similar past topics on here, it may/may not be recoverable. Seems to depend on quickly getting to talk to the 'right' people at VM who understand the required processes. Also seems to be that the shorter the time after being disconnected, the greater the chance of recovery as well as which provider actually 'owns' the number as part of their number allocation.

A VIP or moderator may move your topic into 'Home Phone' as the VM forum team don't often reply here in 'Community Natter'.

That's annoying then as tried day after day to phone  them. 

Is there a way to get onto chat as can't find it today?

Still waiting for help with my phone number problem

Dont want to have to notofy Friends Family Doctors Hospital etc To tell them I have a new home phone number

Just want my old one back!

Still no change. Was told at the beginning it would only take a week. That was 26th Sept!
