Hi
I just received a fibre phone adapter today - no idea when switchover date is.
My issue is that the router is one floor up and the phone socket is on the floor below.
Moving the router is not an option and I am not wanting to have to run cables all the way upstairs.
What are my options please?

The phone is on the lower floor next to the phone socket and the hub is upstairs.
We don't want the main phone/answer machine to have to be moved upstairs next to the router.
Ask VM to modify your home phone wiring so you can use your existing landline extension sockets via the phone connection from the VM hub.
VM should offer to do this free of charge for you as part of the switchover process.
Make sure they make modifications to your phone wiring so you can keep each piece of equipment in the same place (rather than the offer which sometimes crops up on here to move the hub to a different location)

Hi sjmatchett,
Thanks for posting, and sorry for any confusion regarding your home phone switcher.
The phone socket would not be needed, you would use the adapter to plug the phone directly into the hub.
Have you tried this?

Thanks for getting back to me,
The only options in this case would be to either start using cordless phones, or we can look to move the hub to the level the phone is on.
Let me know if you'd like the hub moving and I can pop you over a private message to help.

As I have previously said we don't want to move the phone or the hub.
Why should we as customer have to move anything after getting the hub and original phone sockets p[laced where we wanted? Not really good service is it?

Thanks for your help goslow - will see if they can sort the existing set-up, as not wanting to move either the router (as set up by my pc) or move the main phone.

Can you please let me know how I arrange a technician visit to enable the phone socket so nothing needs to be moved?
Can't see anything on the web pages to do this?

Hi sjmatchett,
Thank you for your reply.
We understand you wish to keep the set up as it is at the moment but in order to continue to use the home phone service, it would need to be connected to the Hub.
We can arrange for a relocation but can see this is not something you wish to do and respect your decision. With that being the case, a base unit for a cordless set up can be attached to the Hub and cordless phones can be used throughout to avoid disruption.
Please do let us know how you wish to proceed.
Thank you,
