I need help regarding the change to the phone service changing to fibre network.
we don’t use the landline but just have the line for broadband.
Do we still have to do this change as the landline phone socket is in a different room to the hub.

No need for you to do anything. At changeover time, the telephone port will simply be enabled on your Hub.

Virgin Media broadband doesn't come down the phoneline. You'll have a different connection that you plug your hub into. This isn't changing. It just means they are shutting down the copper phone lines and if you DO want to use the landline phone, you plug this into the back of your Virgin Media hub, rather than the socket on the wall.
If you don't want to use the landline service you have no obligation to plug a phone in or use it. But the changeover will still take place regardless.
I Hope I am understanding your query correctly?

Hello
Thanks for your reply. So, just to confirm, we don’t want to use the landline so we don’t have to do anything for the changeover and we will still be able to use our broadband and tv services just like we do at the moment?
Or do we still need to plug the adaptor that Virgin have sent us into the back of the hub?

Thanks for your post on our Community Forums, and a very warm welcome to you!
Pleased to hear that you have been able to find the correct answer to this, via the assistance of @Koda and @Ernie_C.
Although you may not use the landline services, it may still be worth plugging in a handset (if you have one, or can source one temporarily) to ensure that the switch over is successful.
Once the provided RJ11 adapter is plugged into the "TEL1" socket on the back of the hub, try making and then receiving a call on the landline.
Kindest regards,

I am a little confused now. The first 2 replies I received advised me that I wouldn’t have to do anything and that I would be able to carry on using broadband and my tv services as normal.
The reply from David tells me to plug in a handset to me landline to make sure the switch was successful, which I may be unable to do.
Is it possible for someone to confirm if I have to do anything or not as I do not want to reach the switch over date and not being able to use the services.
Thanks

It won't affect your TV and Broadband services in any way, your old phone line will be dead and if you ever want to use the phone you would need to plug it in the hub, the only real reason to do this would be if you need to call virgin on 150 as it's free
