FW500 emergency back-up line

I have the FW500 emergency back-up phone for use in an emergency if the landline phone service is down.  However, I also have a mobile phone (although not with VM).  Will the FW500 still work if the mobile phone signal is also down?  Thanks

Hi @FPA41, thanks for your post on our Community Forums, and a very warm welcome to you!

In the unfortunate event that the mobile signal goes down, after any issues related to the hub, the answer would be that you wouldn't be able to make emergency calls as the back up line does rely on the mobile services.

Thanks.  That's what I thought, so the back-up line is only useful to customers who don't have a mobile phone.  For everyone else it's no use at all.

It would also still be of use if you're using a different mobile phone service to Virgin Mobile, and that service were to go down during a broadband outage.

But again, it would be somewhat unfortunate.

Kindest regards,
