Digital landline changeover queries

Hi I tried calling 150 to get answers but no suitable options and then went round in circles, including being given a link for live chat which then replied 'sorry we're not using this service' 😤!! I've been contacted about the digital landline changeover, and have some queries. I've contacted my telecare company and they've changed the equipment which now doesn't use the landline but I don't know if i need a backup phone connection, and my phone and hub aren't by each other so may need extra cabling - I think I need an engineer visit but can't figure out how to book that for this. Thanks for any help

Hi @Jusf

Welcome to the community forums

Sorry to hear you've not been able to discuss your digital landline migration with us.

I can answer any queries you may have on this if needed. Was your query only regarding your telecare service?
If your telecare is no longer connecting or no longer relies on the landline, you might not need a back up battery.

Do you rely on the landline at all? Do you have a mobile phone?

If you aren't able to move your phone to the router, that's absolutely fine. You will need an engineer visit to see if they're able to re-wire the home set up so you can keep it as is.

Hi Carley thanks for replying. Yes the Telecare no longer connects to the landline so I don't think I need the backup - I'm not sure whether I need the landline tbh as I have a mobile, but last time I asked about it, it was more expensive without the landline than with it lol!!

Ah okay, that's great that your telecare is all set up and off the landline systems now.

You may find that can be the case where it works out more expensive if you remove a service. This is because sometimes there are more discounts available the more services you have which may make having more services cheaper overall.

We aren't able to action any package change requests via the community forums, so if you want to remove the landline instead, then you can request this by calling on 0345 454 1111 / 150 or via WhatsApp on 07305 327 112 our team will be more than happy to perform a package review for you. They will ensure that you're on the best possible deal for your package. Alternatively, you can also speak to the team via live chat through your online account.

If you want to keep the landline, we can book you in an appointment to re-wire if you need. Just let us know whenever you've decided what you prefer to do, but please be mindful that your landline service will cease to work from the wall socket when the area is fully migrated over.

We'll be here to support further if you ever need 🙂
