I’ve had a virgin landline for a long time. It’s never been the best with cracking but not always, more often when the weather is bad. In the past engineers have changed the connectors. Just when I think it’s maybe sorted bad weather and crackles return. Can I convert to a CV21 line. I have the superhub 4.

Thanks for using the forums to get this issue with your landline looked into, I am sorry if this has been causing some frustration. 

Unfortunately we're not able to migrate you onto 21CV manually, however it is something that we're expanding all over the UK as the whole country is looking to move away from the old copper lines. So even though we can't do it now, it is something we'll be bringing to your area sometime in the future - I'm not sure when that would be specifically though, sorry! 

Before I messaged you, I did have a little look at your services just to check things out with your landline and I actually found an issue with your broadband! 

The power levels are out of spec which usually causes slow and intermittent connection, have you experienced any slow speeds or disconnections recently? If yes, I can get an engineer booked in for you to get it sorted. 

As for your landline issue, is the crackling you mentioned ongoing at the moment? 



No not had any problems with internet. It’s been fine.

As it’s been raining yes. I can have a conversation but with background cracking. But then tomorrow it could be fine it’s the way it’s always been.

Thanks for coming back to me with that answer, I'm glad you've not had any issues with your broadband in that case! 🙂 But I am sorry the crackling is an intermittent issue. 

I've checked your landline service on my side but can't find any major issues with this, if the issue continues after tomorrow and you'd like an engineer visit, please let us know 🙂
