Cordless phone connection to hub?

I have just received the kit from virgin to connect my home phone (a KX-TG6521E Panasonic) to the network hub in order to resolve (hopefully) an incoming call issue.  Do I have to plug the base station into the hub or is there another option?  This is not at all convenient as the hub is in a cupboard upstairs and the phone base is downstairs where we can both call and check phone messages in comfort.  I have two wireless connected handset extensions in other rooms, but these don't have phone cables but connect wirelessly to the base station.  What are my options, if any?  Thanks in advance for any help given.

There may be a couple of options here. Firstly, it doesn't sound as if the hub in an upstairs cupboard, is very well sited for wifi coverage, so David's suggestion of relocating the hub may be the best approach. Of course, if the current location just happens to work perfectly for you, there is always the chance that moving the hub will worsen the coverage - it's not possible to know this, one way or the other, until after the fact!

Alternatively VM will arrange a technician to run a phone cable from the hub to where your base station currently is - again this will absolutely work, but might not be too practical or sightly, it depends on where the cable run needs to go.

There is, I think, another possibility, could you purchase (OK, a bit annoying as it will require extra expense by you) an additional 'satellite' handset? Move the base station to the cupboard and use the new handset in it's place.

You would need to plug the main handset into the hub for the services to work, and may benefit from a relocation of the hub, or possibly an engineer visit to run a cable from the hub to the main handset.

Check out the purple envelope in the top right hand corner for a private message from me, and we can look into this for you.
