I am trying to retain my TalkTalk landline number (originally BT) by porting it to my Virgin account. The VM engineer who came to repair a fault with my VM landline assured me that this was possible. I called 150 and eventually spoke to someone who was very helpful and explained that I would have to speak to someone in the "porting" department who would begin the process. Unfortunately when he put me through to that dept.a message told me that this number had changed and suggested i phone 150!!
I took a deep breath and phoned back on 150. This time I was told that it I had to phone TalkTalk and they would do it. This is not the way round that they suggest on the Ofcom website. Before I potentially waste time phoning TalkTalk could a Virgin forum monitor confirm what the process is?
