I joined Virgin in June  and requested my phone number be ported.  This never happened and eventually at beginning of August I got hold of porting team myself costing  me £2.25 for the privilege. They told me that as my previous supplier had cancelled the line my number was spare and might not be able to be ported At least Virgin said they would try and message me outcome- they never did. Finally did find out a week later that my old number had ported. Charged for Virgin phone line and weekend calls from 20 June to 2 August when I didn’t use phone as I was waiting for porting. Also I was promised a credit on my bill each month so monthly charges match those offered by my previous supplier- again that’s not happened - that’s another story- totally regret decision to move to Virgin- customers don’t seem to matter only profits ☹️
