Are 0330 numbers from my landline free? My bank statement shows a debit to a firm I phoned on an 0330 number. I can't understand why this should happen and I'm now worried if I also have to pay Virgin for calls to this number. I'd be grateful for comments. Thanks.

Hi @bertj thanks a lot for your reply.
That might be the case, we aren't responsible for any charges that other companies may make unfortunately, but it's definitely free from our side.
I hope that helps clarify things for you however, and please don't hesitate to get back in touch if you need any further help.
Many thanks

Hi @bertj thanks for your post here in the Community, although I'm sorry to hear of your concerns raised here.
They are charged exactly the same as 01 and 02 numbers so yes, they should be free if you call the number within your allowance (for example if on Weekend Calls only, at the weekend it would be free as long as you don't go over 60 minutes, it would be chargeable within the week).
If you need me to look into this further for you, I'll be happy to - please let me know if you need any further help with this.
Many thanks

Thanks for that - I presume the cost on my bank statement is the charge the company I was phoning made - obviously not Virgins's charge. I hadn't realised that such numbers will incur such a charge - I won't be phoning them again !!

Any numbers that begin with 03 are - as mentioned above - landline numbers in exactly the same way as 01x & 02x numbers are.
I doubt this has anything to do with an entry on your bank statement. That would only occur by making a debit card, direct debit or standing order transaction with a company or organisation.

It would make sense because my wife pays her annual subscription to ths well known gym using a debit card so they, presumably, keep the card details enabling them to charge for phone calls to them. Ironically, my wife was phoning to query a subscription problem and was kept ages on the usual 'Your call is important to us' annoyance !

Hi @bertj
Thanks for your response
Completely understandable and sorry to hear about the charge. Maybe if you can get in touch with them via email or another contact option they will be able to resolve this for you
