engineer changed the telephone land line, as there was a problem, to the internet. Now all working fine. Why, however am I still being charged for the 'telephone land line ?'
[MOD EDIT: Subject title changed for clarity]

'Telephone landline' charge = 'Telephone service' charge both now, via the VM hub, and in the past via the telephone wall socket.
The VM landline telephone service (and charge) is the same as before, just the means of delivery has changed.

Hi John116, thanks for posting and welcome back to our community.
I understand the question you're asking and can understand why there's some confusion. Although the method your home phone service is being provided, may have changed, we're still essentially providing you with a landline service. You still have a specific telephone number and all other aspects of your telephone service are being maintained. Please see here, for further details.

Old system : Analogue phone>Analogue Copper wire>Convert to Digital at Digital Fibre Node>Back to Analogue at exchange.
New System: Analogue phone>Convert to Digital at Hub> Copper Coaxial>Digital Fibre Node>Back to Analogue at exchange.
Not a lot changed. The expensive piece of kit to run, the analogue exchange, is still being used in the same way. The full VoIP system will not be implemented until 2025.
