Hi Virgin Media,
Had a question regarding a landline number, We are planning on cancelling our virgin media contract, However a close relative of ours is wanting to join virgin media and keep the landline that we have. No since we are on virgin media and they are wanting to join virgin media. For them to get the number would I need to cancel my contract including landline or would I need to keep my landline active

You must keep the land line number active for as long as takes to port the number to a new provider.

We're sorry to hear you intend to leave us, but we're glad to hear your relative is joining us.
Regarding your query, we can't port landline numbers from one Virgin Media account to another, so it wouldn't be possible.
Your relative would be assigned a new number, but as @Client62 has advised, you could port your number to a new provider as long as it's kept active.
