Change of dialling tone

Since changing over from BT to Virgin landline the dialling tone has changed from a solid tone to a tone that sounds like an engaged sound.  This was not happening when it was on BT network.  I have changed the phone and still having the same problem.  Any help to rectify this problem would be appreciated.

Try dialing 1571 to check your messages

Just dialled 1571 no messages should there have been any. 

Just an update since checking 1571 dialling tone now working correctly.  Thanks for your help.

Hi Kathy23blink, thanks for reaching our on the help forums and sorry to hear of the issues with your landline and dialling tone.

We'd like to explain that stuttered dialling tone is either un-played VM messages or it happens when you have not listened to the full message to clear the tone, you may also find this info on our landline feature guide here (page 20).

We're glad to see from your latest post that the issue has cleared since you've called 1571 and after the advice from our forum member jb66.
