Cannot keep landline when moving house

Hi

I moved house in august taking all my services, engineer installed everything but was given a different phone number, was told it was temporary and to contact customer services to get old number back, now 2 months later and a lot of phone calls (via mobile) and engineer visits have been told that i can't have my old number as it's on a different switch. looking at the forum this had happened to a couple of people and it got sorted for them, am i just the exception? i have been with virgin for 15-20 years and moved house before with no issues, could someone do their magic and get it sorted for me please.

I'm really sorry to hear that you've been given some conflicting information about your number. I can appreciate how personal this is for you after having it for such a long time. 

 

It is true that numbers are restricted depending on the switch they can be on, however so I can get the full facts of your number and account I'll need to get some more details.
