Cannot call the US, because caller ID is not working

I am trying to call someone in the US, and I keep getting a message telling me that their phone does not accept calls from phones with caller ID blocked.
I didn't block my caller ID, and it normally works when I call.

Is there some bandwidth-saving thing going on where caller ID information is not being sent on outgoing calls?

Prefacing the call with 1470 used to override number conceal.  Not sure if it still works but worth a try as a work around until you get to the bottom of the issue.

That results in "The Number you dialled is not in service..."

I am still completely unable to dial my elderly parents in the U.S., because Virgin is not sending caller ID information. I do not have it blocked.
I really need to get this fixed! 😞

Sorry this is still an issue. 

Just to check have you been able to try and call from a mobile for example just to make sure it's not an issue with the number?

Are you able to try any other numbers from the landline to test this as well?

I have been able to dial with my mobile. I don't have another "land line" to test from.

The issue does appear to be on the Virgin side of the connection.

Thanks for coming back to us Heebie. I would like to take a further look into this for you but would need to take this to a private message, so that I can  a further look into your phone line and see what is causing the issues.
