Re: Can't turn off conditional fowarding on LANDLINE

Gareth, to prove my point why don't you try and ring my landline............

I have wasted days on this and I am very dissatified with Virgin

Re: Can't turn off conditional fowarding on LANDLINE

Thanks for checking Harvey3

From what you have just described

This will be a physical issue in the green cabinet you see outside

The only way to fix this is to get an engineer out

I will book the first available engineer we have and you can check the appointment online via your Virgin Media Account

Re: Can't turn off conditional fowarding on LANDLINE

Hi Gareth,

The engineer came at 4pm today, he addressed a issue within the external junction box. I had left with him my cordless landline for testing purposes and he demonstrated  his success by ringing same using his mobile. After he left I tested it too, the first call I allowed to ring until I could leave a test message which was successful. The second call I successfully answered..........but every call since by myself or my friends is just as before.....hopeless, for the caller it rings forever, but the landline rings just once!!!!

Help please

Re: Can't turn off conditional fowarding on LANDLINE

Thanks for the update Harvey3

I am sorry it is still being a nuisance to you

I have requested for the time it rings to be extended to a maximum of 10 before the Voicemail kicks in

Also, would you be able to try another handset in the socket

Just to rule out its not your equipment

LANDLINE problems

Hi Gareth,

I checked all phone settings weeks ago including the number of rings.

Last Wednesday I bought a new cordless answerphone which made no difference.

Spoke to my 75yr old Sister (landline only) last month and asked her why she doesnt call me these days. She said "I do, but you never answer" I said leave a message, she said "I can't, it just keeps ringing"

This problem has probably existed for months. I expect compensation and should not pay for a service that can't be used until it is fixed.

Gareth, kindly note I have changed the Subject/title as 'we' don't know the source of the trouble.

Re: LANDLINE problems

Hello Harvey3

Thanks for replying

I will go away and look at a few things

I think though something very obvious had just cropped up

The reason why no message is able to be left is because we have no active voicemail on the landline

I will add this now it's free and will take up to 48 hours to be active

Regarding compensation this is not something we actually offer but can apply a credit for loss of service over 48 hours

Re: LANDLINE problems

Hi Gareth,

I don't understand why that would be necessary as I have an answerphone, nevertheless please keep trying.
