Caller ID has stopped working

For a couple of weeks now we have had an issue whereby when the phone rings it just shows 'Incoming Call' instead of showing the name of the person calling.  We have had no faults or change in service, it just stopped.  Thinking it was the phone at fault we bought a new one, only to find it is doing the same thing, which leads me to the conclusion it is a fault at the VM end. Has anyone experienced this problem before.  I see other threads where it has happened following service issues, but like I say, it just stopped working.

I am sorry to hear that you have had some issues with your caller ID. 

 

Please could you check you last bill and advise if you were still being billed for caller ID?

Hi Zak,

I have never paid a separate charge for Caller ID, I was told way back when that it was included as part of the package. I checked my bills as you suggested but even as far back as Jun 2020 it is just the standard telephone package on my account.

Caller ID has been free for a long time as it was a requirement of OFCOM that suppliers should not be charging for this.
