Hi guys, asking for an elderly relative who is also a VM customer but is a bit lost.
Briefly, a few days ago his caller ID stopped displaying who's trying to call him. Went through his handset settings and no issues there.
Called 150 who couldn't see anything wrong, but re-activated his called ID settings. 150 said they would phone back so we could phone his number using our own few mobies, which should show up on his phone display. They called back promptly but as it still was an issue, problem might be his handset.
I told him to leave it a couple of days to see if needed time to re-activate. Still wasn't working so he brought a new handset, but same problem.
Checked original handset on our line, it works perfectly. Should have done that in the first place but Wife's annoyed, her elderly dad has just forked out unnecessarily.
Phoned VM today from his landline, they said everything checks out and there's "nothing we can do". Well, to be honest, thats' poor.
Reading through the forums, seems quite a few people have had the same problem and it the advice seems to be it could be a local issue with the street cabinet or some other local hardware problem.
So, can you guys please arrange for an engineer to come and check the cabinet/box/line/the connection in his house .... whatever could be causing this problem? It's obviously not the handsets and apparently everything is in order at VM HQ.
Many thanks in advance 🙂
