Bored now : 0800 052 1251 - continually calls and hangs up.
4 calls this week and each time they have hung up after I have said "Hello" - number is now blocked.
If this is valid sales team - you need to inform them to be more polite. Also cold calling and then asking us to verify our account and security details is extremely bad practice .
If your bank called and said , hi im from "bank of joe" we're callign about your account - can you please verify your account number and memorable information - would you give them this information ? No you wouldnt and I will not give my details to this extremely "offshore" sales team.

I can confirm this is a genuine Virgin Media number used for sales purposes.
Existing customers can update their marketing preferences via My Virgin Media under 'My Profile' > 'My Preferences'.
Better still: customers can issue Virgin Media with instructions under GDPR Article 21, the Right to object, sections 2 and 3.
2: Where personal data are processed for direct marketing purposes, the data subject shall have the right to object at any time to processing of personal data concerning him or her for such marketing, which includes profiling to the extent that it is related to such direct marketing.
3: Where the data subject objects to processing for direct marketing purposes, the personal data shall no longer be processed for such purposes.
