Billing me even though I am not a VM customer

I cancelled my VM account over 12 months ago but last month, 17th April, I was emailed a bill for £19. I tried to resolve this with Customer services but they simply kept asking for my password which, as I am not a VM customer, I don't have. I have now received another bill demanding a further £19 and payment of last month's bill. All ways of contacting VM have proved useless and I am constantly asked for my password. I can't say this any clearer - I AM NOT A VIRGIN MEDIA CUSTOMER!!! How can I speak to someone to get this, resolved? You are demanding payment for a service I do not have.

I would first like to ensure that these emails are genuine, can you confirm the email sender address please?

 

Can you also confirm if you received a confirmation of your account closure?

you are confirming an email is real by the sender's address. Really. So easy to spoof

Yes Beth, these emails are genuine, as is the stress still being caused by Virgin Media.

 

After so long I cannot remember whether I received confirmation of the closure but, I was asked to return the equipment and have made no payments for 12 months so I'm guessing it was closed - no equipment and no usage would seem fairly telling.

 

I have now tried various ways of getting this issue sorted to no avail.

Sorry for the obvious question, but does the Virgin Media account number on the bill for £19.00 match the account number you have advised should have been closed 12 months ago?

Yes, the account number is the same.
