BT Loud Indoor Telephone Ringer not working on Virgin VOIP

Since changing from Sky provider to Virgin my Loud Indoor Telephone Ringer will not work on VOIP circuit. As all my base phones work ok why not the Ringer?

A Virgin Engineer called and deemed the Ringer to be faulty, so I bought a new one, it does not work either, a family member took my original Ringer to his home and it works on his system (BT)

Any help appreciated before I go back to Virgin

Re: BT Loud Indoor Telephone Ringer not working on Virgin VOIP

Hi Grandadoc,

Thank you for your post and sorry to hear you are having issues with your loud telephone ringer, Virgin, unfortunately, does not support third-party devices, but we can try and help what make and model is your equipment?

Thanks,

Zoie

Re: BT Loud Indoor Telephone Ringer not working on Virgin VOIP

Hi Zoie, Thank you for your interest.

My ringer is:- BT 4-Tone Loud Indoor Telephone Ringer, Model TONECALLER II

I would expect the ringer to behave like a phone, ie, find he same signals on certain pins?

GrandaDoc

Re: BT Loud Indoor Telephone Ringer not working on Virgin VOIP

Hi GrandaDoc,

Thanks for getting back to me on this, I am sorry but the telephone ringer is not compatible with the VIOP, I'm afraid.

Cheers,

Zoie

Re: BT Loud Indoor Telephone Ringer not working on Virgin VOIP

Hi Zoie

Thanks for trying to help.

When you say the BT Ringer is not compatible, do you know how.

Also if it is not compatible does that mean it should never have worked on VOIP? If it does you might be surprised to hear that indeed it did work on three of my five phone sockets, the ones connected to my Base Units but not on the one it was intended to. It stopped working on all sockets after a visiting technician changed the original Master socket to a Virgin Media one.
