Adapter for phone

Eversince I have had new Hub 5 router and plugged in the new adapter to make calls we keep getting random calls which go straight to answerphone and the no number is displayed.

This is extremely annoying and we have to unplug the phone every night.

The Virgin engineer says we need to get another phone but offered no advice as to why this happening.

Hi there @colin4451

Thank you so much for your post and welcome to the community forums, it's great to have you here.

I am so sorry that you are facing this issue with your services! I can imagine how frustrating this is!

Can you elaborate on what exactly is happening? Does the phone ring more than once?

Have you been able to answer the calls at all?

Thank you.

Anything like this topic involving Hub 5 and BT phones?

https://community.virginmedia.com/t5/Home-Phone/Constant-quot-no-number-calls-quot-since-moving-to-I...

Its really difficult to explain but has definitely only started happening since we plugged the adapter supplied into our Hub 5 router.

The phone makes a sound as if its off the hook then the phone goes to answerphone to record a message and if we try and pick it up quickly the engaged tone is heard but there is diffinitely no one there, I'm convinced its being randomly generated electronically probably by the router.
