Adapter for Landline Phone not arrived when promised

I have transferred my landline to my virgin broadband, and I was promised an adapter would arrive on 28th July, and had confirmation email and texts. I remained home, but the adapter did not arrive. I phoned customer support, a nightmare to get through to them by the way. After two hours waiting, I was told my upgrade was not showing on my account! After much back and forth they suddenly found that I was telling the truth and promised to send another. Still no notification or adapter. So I am paying for a landline I cannot use. Yesterday I was promised the adapter was being sent out today... still no notifications, and my order page is blank. Terrible customer service and I am regretting joining Virgin.
