98 year old has no working landline

Good day team.

My 98 year old father in law has a major problem with his Virgin Land Line phone (and his connected to his community alarm).

He has sight problems; he does not use a mobile phone, therefore has never received any text messages (or written info) regarding Virgins upgrade to VOIP phone service, his account is TV and Landline only, his installation does NOT include a modem.

He has been in hospital since 1st August after suffering a broken hip, he was discharged to home from hospital  yesterday (22nd August ) only to find that he does not have a working landline (VOIP was activated on 14th in his area) and consequently his community alarm no longer works.

Please advise ASAP – he needs a working phone.
