141 service not available on my line

I successfully made a call yesterday morning using 141 to withhold my number.  Half an hour later I tried to make another call using 141 and had the message that 'this service is not available on this line'.  I've tried to call several different numbers (mobiles and landlines) using 141 and  none of them work.  I have called virgin twice but the problem still exists. Both times they believed they had fixed it.  I can make calls providing I don't want to use 141 to withhold my number. Any ideas?

Sorry to hear there has been some difficulty using the 141 service on your landline phone.

 

Can you tell me if you can switch from pulse to tone on the handset to see if that can fix this issue? 

 

This has been known to fix this issue on handsets previously

Hi,  I have checked that the key tones are set to on.  The service was working on Saturday morning.  15 minutes later when I tried to use it again, I had the message saying 'sorry but the service requested is not available on this line' and I have not been able to use it since.

Thank you for your reply.  I've just tried to use 141 with a call to a landline number and to a mobile number and it's still not working on either.

Thanks for giving it a shot for me

 

I've been able to look at this again, with the assistance of a colleague from our Telco department.

 

Can you please try the feature again for me? Do please try both landline and mobile as you did before

I've been able to work with my colleague again to see if this can be resolved.

 

Hate to ask yet again, but can you please give this another try for me?

 

If this doesn't work this time around, it's something we will need to report to our Networks Team
