Xbox oneguide & VM360 box not connecting

My Xbox oneguide & VM 360 box are not connecting. I can’t view live TV on the Xbox.

- All cables are correct 🤞 and I’ve tested the source directly to the TV.
- This Xbox does have a HDMI in.
- I’ve not tried another HDMI cable but it is the one that came with the 360 box.

Any suggestions why this won’t connect?

Re: Xbox oneguide & VM360 box not connecting

Hi there scrappydez,

Welcome back to the community.

Just to clarify can you view LiveTV from a HDMI plugged directly into a TV?

Also are any other devices affected by connection?

Thanks,

Kain

Yes.

HDMI out from the VM 360 box is actually split so I have two 4K feeds. Each feed can be viewed on the TV. I’ve tried both feeds into the Xbox and live TV can’t be viewed.

Any ideas?

Re: Xbox oneguide & VM360 box not connecting

Hey scappydez, thank you your update and confirming this.

Okay so I have done some digging into for you. Please can you let me know if you have tried this

  1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
  2. Select Profile & system > Settings > General > TV & display options > TV & OneGuide.
  3. The console will try to detect an HDMI-in signal. If the source of your HDMI signal shows up on the picture of the TV screen, select Next to continue.
  4. If you don’t see the source of your HDMI signal displayed, you’ll need to verify that your console is receiving a signal from your set-top box:
    1. Confirm that your set-top box is connected by HDMI cable to the HDMI port on your console.
    2. Once live TV appears, select Next.

I have also found out that As of May 2021, OneGuide on Xbox One no longer supports live TV listings. You can continue to use OneGuide to view your connected HDMI devices or USB TV tuner. Please do let keep me you updated. Thanks

Re: Xbox oneguide & VM360 box not connecting

Hi Matt,

Thanks coming back to and I appreciate your help looking into this.

Thank you for the guide. It is one I’ve seen and I did follow these exact instructions but to no avail.

I can confirm that all cables are correct.

I was also aware that oneguide doesn’t display TV listing but from what I can gather, Live TV still should be displayed on the Xbox.

Hi @scrappydez

What happens if you change the TV360 resolution to 1080p or automatic?

Settings > Audio & Video > HDMI resolution >

Unfortunately changing the resolution has not solved the problem.

The part highlighted in bold may be the issue. The VM 360 box isn't designed to be passed through to other TV's/equipment. Splitting the feeds can cause issues.

Also, since March 2021, Microsoft removed its TV listings feature on the Xbox One - source link below

If you've registered for TVGO, although unlikely  you may be able to see the VM EPG or watch programs by using a browser on your Xbox One and going to this url

Please note the app isn't supported or available on the Xbox
