Xbox One - slow speeds

Hi, I’ve recently joined Virgin about 5 days ago and I’m getting awfully slow speeds on my Xbox. On all other devices I’m getting the speeds that I was promised, but it will disconnect quite often on mobile phones, however on my Xbox I’m getting 1.0Mbps-15Mbps.

I’ve also logged into the Wi-Fi settings and ran diagnostics, it mentioned that I’ve got Wi-Fi connection issues.

Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Gaming should always be on a wired connection, either directly or at a pinch, ethernet powerline adapters.

However, try splitting the SSID as below and manually set the best wifi band.

• Access your Hub by navigating to 192.168.0.1
• Login with the default login info (on base of Hub) unless you've already updated it.
• Go to Advanced Settings > Wireless > Security
• Under Wireless Frequency 2.4GHz change the Wifi Network Name (SSID), suggest append _2 to the end.
• Repeat for the Wireless Frequency 5GHz, suggest append _5 to the end and click on Apply changes
• Try to avoid spaces and periods in the SSID names as they can cause issues with certain devices.

Also disable any Smart Optimisation on the wifi.
