Hi I play PS4 hard wired with a superhub2ac. Here’s the thing I have been having issues for quite a while now online gaming and have finally narrowed it down to interference from a fridge freezer if the main wire Not the Ethernet but the virgin media wire is near the main fridge freezer wire I get lag, I have put foil all round the virgin media wire and this has helped but not sorted it completely is there anything I can do with the electrics to counter this thx.
The coaxial cable is shielded and shouldn't really be affected that badly just by being near a mains appliance cable, are you sure you haven't misdiagnosed the fault?
It might be worth logging into your Hub and posting the downstream stats, upstream stats, and network log here for others to point anything unusual out. You can find those by going to http://192.168.0.1 if in router mode or http://192.168.100.1 if in modem mode and clicking "Check router status" beneath the login box.
No worries m8, it’s because I have PS4 in the kitchen, that’s the way the engineer set it up so mains wires aren’t hanging down past plate cupboards. i’ve got the main hubwire coming through the wall from outside which travels past the fridge, I bought a cat7 Ethernet cable which has made it better. The hub2ac is above the fridge on top shelf about 4ft to the right, but it’s the wires tht travel behind the fridge not Ethernet, which is causing me problems if I pull the fridge out a few feet away it’s so much better I don’t know if it’s the mains wire or compressor that’s at fault, it’s funny you should mention upload I’m on the 200package and seem to get quite a slow upload at times.
That sounds very strange that the fridge is affecting your connection. I've checked everything from here and can see no issues whatsoever.
As Kippies pointed out our Coax is triple shielded so shouldn't have any interference. I can book a technician to take a look but I'm not sure what they've even be able to do if they find no problems with the cabling.
I've sent you a private message to arrange the visit.
