Wifi connection issues and LAG

 

I have been experiencing issue since upgrading to 200mbps broadband. Its near enough impossible for me to finish a game on the ps4 without loosing connection. I have had an engineer out who said it was perfect. I received a new router this week, still the same. Its not just my ps4 that looses connection, all devices drop.

After reading some of the forum last night i signed up to thinkbroadband and saved a graph, While i started the graph i tried the ps4 again and was literally impossible to play so gave up. Im stuck.

Maybe it was perfect when the technician visited, certainly isn't a lot of the time looking at your BQM that shows a rotten connection.  To do some more digging to justify a further technician visit, can you go into the Hub's status page, and then copy and post here (as text, not screenshots) the full set of data for the tabs titled Downstream. Upstream and Network log?

My guess is the network log is full of "Partial Service" messages, Synch errors and T3 timeouts, due to a power or noise problem.

Will get it sent over to you now, To be honest when the engineer was here it was no help, Best advice i had was to move the position of my router lol

Power levels and SNR are OK, but the Network log looks as grim as I expected, and your downstream error levels are massive.  Can you do a reboot, then post the Downstream stats after a few hours, and tell us how long since the reboot?  The reboot clears the error counters, and what I'm wanting to establish is how quickly the error levels are rising, particularly the post-RS errors.

My personal guess is upstream noise is at the root of all this, and that's not recorded by the Hub's network log.  If we can get a good set of evidence, then VM will have to send a technician,m and they'll have a better idea of what they're trying to find and fix.
