Wifi Router Box - poor latency

Hi,

We have a standard virgin media wifi box in our house which I have hard wired to my gaming console. I have been getting really bad latency recently and it came from nowhere, I also have a booster that’s plugged in to my console too and it’s still just as bad, I was looking to see if there’s a way to get a second router / modem that can be used by just me and not my other family members in my house to see if that would make a difference, most games I have tried to play are completely unplayable. Thank you

Re: Wifi Router Box - poor latency

You can get two Hubs, but that will mean two accounts and two payments to VM.

However, can you post the power levels and network log from the Hub.  Also setup a BQM here www.thinkbroadband.com/ping to monitor your connection.

As for the powerline adapters they rely on the house wiring to work and can cause latency.

If you need a better connections, either run Cat 6a ethernet cables or setup a Mesh system.
