Re: Why are virgin boradband charging me £60 to connect my wifi to my xbox

speed issues can be many things especially if its wifi - have you tested a device wired

what charge to connect your wifi - have they referred you to gadget rescue to solve a problems with the xbox - if so refuse any help - its a paid service for 3rd party device problems and from comments on here not a very good paid service technically

if you are having problems post an outline here and users will jump in and hel

Can anyone help connect my sons xbox to virgin please

Recently switched over to virgin broadband, big mistake.

Having a couple of issues.

Main on is can anyone help in connecting xbox to wifi. Virgin's gadget 3rd party service want a payment of £60, we've never had to pay for connecting x-box to wifi with other broadband suppliers.

My son has spent hours trying to resolve but to no avail. He said it might be a port he is having trouble unlocking.

Appreciate any help.

its Gadget Rescue - you must have asked questions of tech support that they deem outside their remit - they try to push GR to solve the problem - they can help in some cases and are useless with other things - as i said post the questions you have here and the help will come and it will be free

Re: Why are virgin boradband charging me £60 to connect my wifi to my xbox

Hi Vim777,

Sorry to hear you're having problems connecting your Xbox to your WiFi network.

Can you give us more details so we can help?

What have you tried so far and are you seeing any error messages?

Thanks,

Lisa

@vim777 You posted it on a seperate thread and so I have merged your other thread with this existing thread.  Creating multiple threads for the same issue is against the forum rules and just confuses things.

Re: Why are virgin boradband charging me £60 to connect my wifi to my xbox

Hi

My son son has tried opening ports from virgin media to allow connection apparently port 53 would not open. Your technical support or the gadget place  - third party services you use are vague as to what the problem is and are wanting £60 to connect. I've never had this issue before with other broadband service providers (Vodafone, EE and BT)

Error message 'can't connect static IP address'

thanks
