Very high latency in games.

When I try to play any online game even on local servers my latency jumps extremely high to 100ms even if I play on local servers. I am using the 210mpbs package which is giving me the exact speeds I want and I checked my router status for any problems. I am not sure how to post the bonded channels here and the network log though.

Re: Very high latency in games.

I'm on 100mbps. Games are literally unplayable. My ping jumps from around 80ms - 500ms and back down again it's terrible. I don't think it's something they can fix i'll be honest. I'm looking elsewhere

Re: Very high latency in games.

Connect to the hub by clicking on this link http://192.168.0.1/  That should pull up the log in page for the hub.  But don't log in, just click on the link "Check router status"  That'll bring up a window with five tabs.  Open the Downstream tab.  Select all the text (Ctrl-A if using a keyboard), copy it (Ctrl-C), then paste it (Ctrl-V) into a reply here.  Post as text, not screenshots unless you really have no alternative, as screenshots are often illegible.  Post that, do the same for the Upstream and Network log.  You'll get an error message when you post the Network log, just click on "post" a second time.  Then we can check for any obvious problems with power, noise or error counts.

As there's another, possibly more likely cause of your problem, setup a BQM over at https://www.thinkbroadband.com/broadband/monitoring/quality that'll show what's going on with your VM connection.  Post a link to a live, shared graph here and we'll see what's happening.  Usually needs to run for 24 hours before we can draw reasonable conclusions, but the live graph will continuously update so you can do that immediately, and we'd have a fair idea by tomorrow morning if you do it now.

Re: Very high latency in games.

Unfortunately the hub stats are all in order, so what I'm expecting the BQM to show when there's a full day's trace is an over-utilisation problem.  I could be wrong, we'll have to wait and see.

Re: Very high latency in games.

..and what we'll see if this is over-utilisation is that between half midnight and about half eight tomorrow morning, the latency spiking settles down to a steady yellow fringe at around 25-28ms, without those horrible spikes.
