Trouble playing ps5 in two different bedrooms and watching other things in the other bedroom that are on

Hi although I getting fantastic speed coming in downstairs the problem I have is getting the Wi-Fi into different parts of the house upstairs. When playing the ps5 in two different bedrooms one will connect to the Wi-Fi and the other won’t. Then if both connect the ps5 freezes and it kicks you off the Wi-Fi completely . Also we have problems playing programs on demand in the other bedroom as it just freezes and will not play whatsoever. I am hoping this can be fixed as the whole reason for getting fast Wi-Fi was so it could cope with gaming and other devices.

VM do not guarantee WiFi speeds above 20mb. If you need reliable WiFi get a good Mesh setup, or a wired switch for upstairs.

Another thing to consider is with multiple consoles connecting to the same online services at the same time, you need to rely on UPnP to allow them to all get Open NAT for the least troublesome experience. I don't know which VM hub you're using or how well any of them handle UPnP, so in the long-term, it's probably worth investing in your own router and putting the hub into modem mode.

I currently use an ASUS RT-AC86U and it's handling many devices connected via Wi-Fi with working from home, streaming music and video, multiple Xboxes and a PS5 gaming at the same time, all without any issues. All consoles with an Open NAT.

Hello Monty63.

Thanks for your first post and welcome to our Community.
Sorry to hear you are having an issue with the 2 PlayStations losing connection.

I did run a quick check on the hub form here and everything is looking healthy.

You do have 1 pod connected.

We can arrange for a maximum of 3 pods per household, which will definitely help with the WIFI coverage,
I'd like to take a look into getting them sent out for you.
If you don't mind, I will need to send you a private message to pass security.
If you can check the purple envelope top right of your screen that would be great.
