Slow connection in afternoons with high latency spikes

Hi!

I have been experiencing real slow down from around midday onwards for most of the afternoon on my connection and wondered if there was something wrong. I found on this forum a recommendation for using broadband quality monitor so I have recorded a typical day, are the large yellow spikes normal? Is this a sign of something wrong?

Many thanks for your help in advance!

Adam

Re: Slow connection in afternoons with high latency spikes

Hello

That is not normal from looking at this it is down the increased load on you local cabinet, if you hang around on this thread a VM forum staff member will get back to you to look into this in greater depth.

Re: Slow connection in afternoons with high latency spikes

Hi Mike!

I'm glad to hear that it doesn't seem normal as I'm new to all these graphs! Let's hope we can get it sorted!!

Re: Slow connection in afternoons with high latency spikes

Could you access your router using http://192.168.0.1/ . Don't log in, select the 'Check Router Status' option and paste your 'Downstream', 'Upstream', and 'Network Log' tabs?

We can see if there is anything in the router stats that point to a localised problem.

Re: Slow connection in afternoons with high latency spikes

I have checked the account Adam and can see that there is an area outage which is affecting the service and causing it to be intermittent. The reference is F008225601  and is due to be resolved on the 21st July.  Chris

Re: Slow connection in afternoons with high latency spikes

HI Chris,

The spikes seem to be lower after the 21st, there still seems to be an issue in the afternoons with higher spikes, is this now typical or is there something still not right?

Many thanks for your time on this.
