Shockingly poor latency for gaming

School report for Virgin Media - "must do better"

Speed is OK but suffers from latency issues for periods, 50-150 typical.  Seriously?

On a really good day latency is about 30ms for this host.

No it's not load induced from my network.
Yes, I have also just had a new Hub 3 replacing my really old hub.
And graph is taken directly from my firewall (i.e. no wifi etc. involved).

It could be congestion.

Create a BQM and post the live link, then we should be able to confirm, like many users already posting in these forums.

Re: Shockingly poor latency for gaming

Ok, this looks pretty bad to me... Now what can I get done about it?  No point even thinking of gaming this evening with 100-150ms ping time 😞

You are in a congested area (Too many users accessing the services), so not much you can do other than report it to VM.

Yes, I saw the original image before it was blocked.

Definitely congestion.

Re: Shockingly poor latency for gaming

I am lucky my AREA 22 does not suffer this.
