Second router

Morning! I have a hub 3 connected in the backroom to my telly and v6.

My eldest in the front room can only access the 2.4ghz (I separated the signals) but is still getting high ping.

I have an  wall input there as we did have two boxes. Can I connect a router, direct then slave it to the other so I can Ethernet straight to his ps4? If so does it have to be a virgin router

Re: Second router

no. you will need to run an ethernet cable from the router to his PS4. you can't have 2 modems not he same account and the coax can't be used for ethernet

Re: Second router

  • The virgin homework guy said it was possible flicking it to modem mode, and I use bridged modems at work in sound industry? If I add a second router via optic to my outside connection then bridge to the main router wont it act as a bridge? And allow me to ethernet to the new router and drop ping?

Re: Second router

No, I'm afraid it won't work like that!

It has to be done via ethernet.
