Poor latency whilst gaming

Hi guys,

so we had virgin previously and then cancelled it for BT, but because there’s a few of us that live here it made it impossible to play games to a decent standard because of the overload of devices connected to it. So I’ve bought my own virgin package to combat that however ever since it’s been installed I’ve had nothing but shocking latency the whole time. Even my download speeds keep dropping off. I’m supposed to be getting close to or around 500mbs and I’m getting just over 100. Here’s a BQM of my router

From the BQM it looks like you turned the router off at or around 10am this morning?

The rest doesn't seem too bad, maybe a bit of over utilisation in your area?

Yeah I put it in modem mode just to see if it would clear anything up but it didn’t. Surely from the network log though all of them critical errors can’t be right? For example I play fifa regularly and there’s a connection bar before you play the game. Every time I connect up with someone the latency bar keeps jittering about going from 18 up top 198 at times and then back down to 30/40. It makes it unplayable

I have the exact same problem, I had an engineer come out and they basically told me the areas 'node' is being over used or something and it won't be sorted until sometime next year lol.

That can’t be right surely? It’s not your fault that it’s been over sold or over capacitated in your area. You’re paying for a service you’re not receiving which is wrong. I’m paying for the M500 package so I’d like to get the full service or close enough to it because I’m paying more than enough.

@Laneyyy9 I'm not seeing obvious evidence of over-utilisation on the BQM, what's more evident is the persistently poor average latency (along with repeated loss of channels showing in the network log.  Can you repost a full set of data (upstream, downstream, network log) so we can see how things are now?
