Peak hours are a mess for a month now.

Hello,

For many years VM has been fairly reliable and satisfactory but the last 3-4 weeks has been terrible at peak hours and there seems to be no end in sight either.

While the connection is rock solid, the latency and ping is through the roof at 6pm->12am every single day without fail. Packets are being dropped, I ping 300ms to a Manchester server (whereas usually, it would be 15-20), my games are 300-400 and so forth. As someone who relies on stability and good performance for my career, this is not going to work for me.
I understand that peak hours are under stress, and I'm happy to accept performance hits at these hours, but 300ms to everything is NOT normal and there is a huge issue somewhere as it kills basically all games, streaming and so forth.

I phoned 150 and after several hours of explaining what my symptoms were, I've emerged with an ethernet cable being mailed to me. Yes, seriously. A cable. I already have the correct cables and I've switched them. There seems to be no way to contact someone in the know, hence my topic here. I hope to get information if this is something on my side, or congestion in my area. And if so, a fix for that.

I would love some input from knowledgeable users or staff.

Re: Peak hours are a mess for a month now.

EDIT: - Post removed.  Just checked my BQM and that spike from 8 to 12pm is no longer showing at present. However it did show at the same time for 5 days, so I can only guess at core network maintenance.
