Packet Loss and Ping Spikes

Experiencing random lag spikes and packet loss over the last few days that are becoming more frequent and making gaming difficult.

PC has wired connection to the router via an ethernet switch however the problem still persists using an ethernet directly from the hub to the pc.

I am unsure as to whether there was a local service update/maintanence on the 22nd August but that is when the problem began. Postcode is BB11 if there is anyway to check on your end.

I have tried all the obvious steps (e.g rebooting and resetting router) but that hasn't fixed things.

Hub is in router mode and is running sofware version: 9.1.1802.610

Re: Packet Loss and Ping Spikes

Any ideas? Problems still persist.

Broadband monitor showing 100% packet loss now so here's a snapshot of a day in which it worked:

Thanks.

Re: Packet Loss and Ping Spikes

The downstream stats look OK, the upstream stats look fine on the face of it except for the fact that all four channels have dropped to 16 QAM rather than 64, now this 'might' be normal for your area but coupled with the RCS partial service errors is telling me that you have noise ingress (interference) on the cable.

All you can really do yourself is to check that all connections you can get to are nice and tight, including the ones in the box on the front of your house where the cable comes up. Otherwise you almost certainly will need an engineer visit, either call in to customer service and insist on a visit or wait until a member of the forum team finds this thread and they should offer to contact your directly to arrange something.
