Hi, I'm just wondering if it is possible to get nat type (1) open on ps5. I have done all the port forwarding for ps5, Fifa 23 but I am still on nat type 2. Is this because I have the firewall activated?

I am sure when I had the xbox series x, I always had open nat type.

Go get a better router with 1Gb ports and use hub in modem mode.

And you reckon once I buy a faster router, I'd be able to play with nat open?

Would you recommend using my Ps5 in DMZ mode. I understand that putting a pc or laptop in DMZ mode would be too risky but would the ps5 be ok?

I have never had anything less than Open NAT on any Xbox console with various ASUS routers over the years, but my PS4 with the same network hardware was always NAT Type 2 and nothing would change it to Type 1. However, this never caused me any issues in any multiplayer or online co-op games though, so I never put any effort into chasing Type 1.

Same as above, that guy saying get a better router is incorrect. Ive had Asus and various other routers, and I have open NAT on xbox and nat type 2 on PS5, nothing wrong with nat type 2.
