Latency and ping on SH3.0. Its so bad.

As you can see, the Latency is absolutely crazy and makes doing anything other than answering emails impossible. Been on the phone to VM 3 times today to try and get an answer, (God I hate that waiting music). However, they only read from a script, so trying to explain is a nightmare.

Can somebody please help me, I've already shelled out money, on new Cat6 Cables, and WiFi card for my PC, however, it's progressively getting worse and resetting the hub does nothing.

Seriously thinking about going back to Sky but with a tenth of the speed 😞

Your image would have been rejected due to showing some personal information, like MAC address.

Could you access your router using http://192.168.0.1/ or http://192.168.100.1 for modem mode . You shouldn't need log in, select the 'Check Router Status' option and paste your 'Downstream', 'Upstream', and 'Network Log' tabs? Please copy/paste this data as text, split between multiple posts (Sometimes you have to click 'Post' twice due to an error message).

Could you please create a BQM (Broadband Quality Monitor) here, and post the live link?

Actually it was the WAN IP address left in the image, but the BQM was absolutely awful. We'll need to see the stats and logs from the hub as @carl_pearce mentions but my initial thoughts are that going back to Sky might not be a bad proposition at this point.

I can't be 100% certain, but my immediate suspicion is that your latency problems may be due to high downstream power levels (or line noise that the hub is raising the power levels to try and overcome).  I've flagged your post for the forum staff, at this time of evening chances are that you'll get a response tomorrow, although sometimes the staff can pounce on an escalated thread in seconds.

Whether sorting out the power levels will completely fix things I don't know, so I'd leave the BQM running until after the power level issue has been attended to.

Hey @spookyvrs,

 

Sorry for the issues that you're currently having with your connection.

 

I have looked into your account from your community profile and been able to see that there is an SNR fault in your area and is estimated to be resolved on 26th November @ 17:30. This is most definitely the cause of your issues.

 

As well as the issue with your fibre connection, you may also find that your Virgin TV or TiVo® services are intermittent, with the picture freezing or disappearing now and then.
