I am a Virgin tech, in regards to upgrading, I believe the 200mpbs package is sufficient for most if not all setups. 350mpbs is overkill in a sense, depends on how much you download I,E games and movies on a regular basis.
Upgrading in my opinion will not change much if there is a underlying issue with the cable or network.
Many factors are involved that can affect your internet, may be a case of getting your setup looked at when this situation blows over.

The virgin support seems like they are bots, not real people. They just copy and paste ready posts. They been told by top management to spam this **bleep** and do nothing. Thousands of people are facing the issue with latency. I already sent an complaint to them. Will see what they will do about that. If that doesn't help I suggest we team up with some group of people and take them to the court. They can't ignore such a move.
