Lagging whilst gaming

my Internet speeds are perfect, but whilst playing online games it stutters all the time. I've test my router and everything seems normal, I've also done a test on my xbox and its normal there too. Someone please give me some ideas

Re: Lagging whilst gaming

How is the Xbox connected to the VM hub, wireless, wired direct to the hub with an Ethernet cable or wired via powerline adapters or any other third party hardware?

Does it happen in all games or one specific game?

Re: Lagging whilst gaming

I'm hard wired to my virgin hub 3. My speeds are between 350 and 500 mbps, when I test its showing no faults what so ever. Its lags very bad on apex legends and warzone. But when playing rainbow six seige it seems to be ok. I really don't understand, ive contacted ea to see if it was a server problem but they say there's nothing wrong.

Re: Lagging whilst gaming

Could you access your router using http://192.168.0.1/ or http://192.168.100.1 for modem mode . You shouldn't need log in, select the 'Check Router Status' option and paste your 'Downstream', 'Upstream', and 'Network Log' tabs? Please copy/paste this data as text, split between multiple posts (Sometimes you have to click 'Post' twice due to an error message).

We can have a look for any oddities in the stats.

Could you please create a BQM (Broadband Quality Monitor) here, and post the live link?

Re: Lagging whilst gaming

Your downstream power levels appear to be too high.  The recommended range is between -6 and +10 and you have several channels above 10, which might be impacting your connection.

You will probably need a technician visit to get the power levels corrected.  You can try calling VM and booking a visit or wait for one of the forum team to get to this thread and if their tests deem it necessary then they can help you book a visit.

Re: Lagging whilst gaming

Is that BQM link correct?

It's been running for 24 hours, unless you created it prior to me mentioning it?

Regardless your downstream power levels are out of spec on a number of your channels (-6 to +10 is in spec).

EDIT: Beat me to it!
