If the games normally work fine, could be that Saturday evening 8pm is peak gaming time and games servers are heavily / over loaded.

Sadly nothing to do with the game servers.

During peak hours the issue is with Virgin and their network. BQM revealed all of this.

I am very sorry to hear your family are experiencing issues when gaming. 

Can you please expand on what has been happening? Are their consoles/computers losing connection completely or is it just the game losing connection to the server?

Are any other devices having problems with connecting? 

Finally, how are the consoles/computers connected to the broadband?
