Internet dropping and packet loss - WoW Classic and OBS streaming
As per @Lisa_CC request I am making a new thread for my issue. Apologies for the wall of text in advance.
Hello, I stream using OBS and also play World of Warcraft Classic. These are the only two programs that I am having the following issue with. The issues with OBS started around 2 months ago, the issues with World of Warcraft have been going on for nearly a year now.
Streaming with OBS I am consistently getting packet loss for seemingly no reason and sometimes my connection just drops altogether, the only thing that resolves this is if I restart my router or (a faster solution) is to disconnect and reconnect my Ethernet cable resulting in almost instantaneous connectivity again. Obviously this isn't ideal and I'm losing income because of this issue.
Consistently every 20-45 minutes whilst playing World of Warcraft (whether the classic version or not) I get disconnected. The only thing I have found to help is if I use a VPN connection, as soon as I am connected via a VPN connection to World of Warcraft, my issue is entirely resolved however this is not ideal because sometimes it can result in some form of latency, also I feel I should not have to pay for a VPN service in order to use my connection how it should work anyway without one.
I have an Ethernet cable connected from my Super Hub 2ac box directly to my desktop PC, this desktop and my phone are the only things that are connected to the network. I have tried multiple Cat5 & 6 cables and have ensured the coax is fitted securely.
In the past I have been asked to provide my upstream and downstream values for my superhub, I have also been asked to provide a WinMTR from the Blizzard World of Warcraft servers. Normally this gets a reply for me to speak with Blizzard about my issue however they just send me back to VM.
